Wilson Furniture was founded in 1934, in a small garage in New Haven, Connecticut by Cliff and Emily Wilson as a reupholster and new furniture manufacturer. As the business grew, Cliff and Emily moved the business to its current location on South Colony Road in Wallingford, Connecticut.

The next generation joined the business in 1938 when Cliff's father and mother started working. The business continued to grow and the third generation of Wilsons: Cliff's sons, Richard and Chuck joined the family business in 1961. Today we are proud to have Richard's sons, Rich and Matt, our fourth generation working in the family business.

In 1965 the business expanded to over 10,000 square feet, adding a furniture showroom.

In 2007 Wilson Furniture and Richard's Upholstery joined forces and became stronger than ever with a new remodeled showroom and workplace. We were lucky enough to have Ann Gallo join our team with her expertise in upholstery.

Many changes have occurred over the years in the way furniture retailing is conducted, resulting in many of the larger "furniture chains" losing the personal touch with their customers. In contrast Wilson Furniture remains dedicated in our original principles which include: outstanding customer service; offering a wide selection of products and services; and standing behind our well-earned reputation.

Generations have relied on Wilson Furniture to provide personal and caring service. It is the way we have been doing business since 1934, and we believe it is the only way to do business!

Wilson Furniture offers a wide array of furnishings and services including: new furniture, lift chairs, recliners, adjustable beds, mattresses, dining sets, re-upholstery of antique furniture, furniture and bed repairs and upholstery supplies.

We service Wallingford, North Haven, Meriden, Branford, Cheshire, Hamden, New Haven, North Branford, Middlesex County, and the entire Connecticut Shoreline.
